How do I use Exhale coffee?
Exhale is freshly roasted coffee and so you will need to brew it in something.
You can use an espresso machine, bean to cup, AeroPress, dripper, Moka pot or a zillion other brewers and experimenting with them is part of the fun!
However, for fresh roasted coffee newbies a Cafetiere (a.k.a. French Press) is the easiest. It's
- Super simple to use
- What we use 90% of the time at team Exhale
- The method we used to do all of our lab testing!
Our method for a small cafetiere is:
- Add 17g of ground coffee (or 2 tbsp).
- Add hot water 30s off the boil.
- Stir after 30s.
- Plunge after 5 minutes.
- Pour and enjoy!
Description
7 reasons to drink Exhale Decaf:
- More polyphenols & antioxidants: The same organic certified coffee as our House Roast - sourced and roasted for high levels of antioxidants, polyphenols and vitamins.
- Mountain Water Process: Decaffeinated using only the purest glacial water from the highest mountain in Mexico, the Pico de Orizaba.
-
No nasty chemicals: Most decaffeination is done using methylene chloride or ethyl acetate - also used in paint stripper & nail polish remover. Not for us.
-
No nasties: Independently tested free from mycotoxins, moulds, pesticides and heavy metals which are especially high in most decaf coffees.
- Selectively decaffeinated: The green beans are immersed in water to selectively extract the caffeine and leave more of coffee's healthiest compounds in place.
- More sustainable: Decaffeination is done near the farm where the coffee is grown. Drastically reducing its carbon footprint vs the Swiss Water Process which is done in Europe.
- Sensational taste: Exhale decaf tastes so good even the pro's can't tell it's a decaf!
If you're used to drinking stale supermarket coffee, brace yourself, this will rock your world!

Choosing a grind size
Wholebean - Choose this if you have your own grinder.
Fine Ground - Choose this for espresso machines.
Medium Ground - Choose this for everything else, including cafetiere, AeroPress, dripper, Moka pot etc..
NOTE: this is not instant coffee. It's real, fresh roasted, life-affirming coffee and so you will need to brew it in something like a cafetiere, filter, AeroPress etc.
Despite all our lab testing, per 100g, it's the same price as other speciality, organic coffees. But in March we doubled our bag sizes to 450g to halve our packaging and halve our carbon footprint as part of our commitment to sustainability.

How will Exhale make me feel?
Rather than answer this ourselves here are what other customers feel after drinking Exhale (all verified Trust Pilot reviews):

“Really have noticed the difference in my alertness since using Exhale” – danielmensah, 31st Jan 2023.

Do you add anything to Exhale coffee to make it healthy?
No we don't, because we don't need to! It's 100% pure arabica coffee.
A good quality coffee that's been treated right is as healthy as any other 'superfood' on the planet.
There's a modern trend towards taking poor quality ingredients (such as instant coffee, read our blog on that here) and adding whatever the latest fad, on-trend superfood is to make it 'healthy' again.
We instead took the care to (obsessively) look after every stage from farm to cup and work with the wonderful things naturally in our coffee already.
It definitely wasn't the easiest option, but it's the best one for you and the planet and that's what matters to us. 😁
How much should I drink for maximum health benefits?
The research is clear - for the maximum health benefits from coffee you should drink 3 to 5 cups a day (or 2 to 3 mugs). Read our article on how much coffee is too much?
1 x 450 bag contains around 30 cups so we recommend 1 bag, per person, per fortnight. Which at £18 bag is still the same as just 5 cups of coffee in a cafe!
If you're sensitive to caffeine try mixing our regular coffee and our decaf for a half-caf. They're from the same farm so mix well together. Or go for our decaf.

Is it suitable for Bulletproof Coffee
Also known as 'Butter Coffee' or 'Keto Coffee', Bulletproof coffee is a popular way of drinking coffee blending it with ghee/butter and MCT Oil.
To be suitable, coffee should be independently lab tested mycotoxin free and ideally high in polyphenols making Exhale the perfect choice.
Our Dark(ish) roast works best so get yours today!
Is your packaging environmentally friendly?
It's as good as currently exists... all our coffee is delivered in compostable, plastic free packaging, and all the paper we use is from FSC Certified renewable sources.
The pouch itself is home compostable (you can compost it in your garden) but the valve and zipper are industrially compostable so tear them off and pop in your green waste bin.
The world's insatiable thirst for polluting, single use plastic has to stop. And we want to be part of that change.
We're always looking for more environmentally friendly ways to package our coffee so please let us know if you have any suggestions!
